Clothing shaped by wonder, story, body, and time.
Designed for the beauty already there.
Anh55 —Designed and Crafted in Boston, Massachusetts
Our Belief
Designed for the beauty already there.
Anh55 designs for the beauty already there — in every body, every age, every shape. Garments shaped by nature, culture, memory, hopes, and dreams. Clothing that reflects the beauty and purpose of the life being lived.
Designed and crafted in Boston, with the best fabrics Anh travels to find. Worn for generations.
Our label tags are hand-embroidered by refugee women who have lived in camps for several generations. Their hands and their histories are in every piece we make.
“Working with permanently exiled communities brings depth to beauty and value to adornment.”

Wonder · Story · Body · Time
Four words. Everything Anh55 makes flows from them.
✦Wonder
Curiosity is the design method. Every piece begins not with a pattern but with a question — what does this garment make possible for the real person wearing it?
◇Story
Our clothes reflect the wearers — a marvel. Every label tag is exquisitely embroidered by artisans from permanently exiled communities. Anh55 clothes are not decoration, but a story made visible.
○Body
Flattering first, always. The real person is beautiful — not the mannequin. Every design begins and ends with our body that will actually wear it, in the life that we are living.
∞Time
Where the seasons of our life manifest our uniqueness and help us to know more about our own history and mystery. We, and our children, still wear the clothes we made by hand in the 1980s.
The Atelier
Designed and crafted in Boston.
Each year, we release three to five designs. Every piece is cut and sewn on our own sewing machines, in our Seaport studio, on the Fort Point edge of Boston's oldest artist community.
The fabrics are chosen by Anh personally. She travels to find them — the best cloth she can put her hands on, sourced from makers around the world who share the same love for quality.
Anh sources from European mills and from hand-weaving families in Vietnam, who have woven her raw silk-cotton fabric for years, and Hmong weavers in Ha Giang whose cloth carries its own history of resilience and survival.

Anh's work moves through wonder, curiosity, and the beauty of imperfection.
Philip's is exacting, sculptural, the kind that makes a person look better than themselves.
Together since 1976. Side by side, they complete each other.

The people behind the work
Anh & Philip Sawyer
Anh
Founder & Creative Director
Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellow, MIT Executive MBA.
Anh founded Anh55 on the conviction that beauty and social purpose belong together — and that a garment should outlast every trend that was fashionable when it was made.
“Her work moves through wonder, curiosity, and the beauty of imperfection.”

TOGETHER SINCE 1976
“I still wear iterations of coats I made in 1983. I once wore one to a faculty meeting and everyone asked if I had just made it. Nope, I made it 30 years ago.”
Anh collaborates with Philip Sawyer Bespoke for patternmaking, excellent craftsmanship, and aesthetic dialogue.
